ObjectiveTo explore the expression of collagen Ⅳ in breast cancer and its clinical significance. We analyzed the correlation of the results with other prognostic parameters which included tumor size, status of estrogen receptor, axillary nodal status, TNM grade, and 5 years survival. The expression of collagen Ⅳ in 93 cases of human primary breast cancer as well as 5 cases of benign breast masses were examined.MethodsUsing monoclonal antibodies of collagen Ⅳ, the expression of collagen Ⅳ in breast masses were detected with immunohistochemical technique (LSAB).ResultsThe absent expression of collagen Ⅳ in the tumor masses was correlated with axillary lymph node involvement, tumor size and poor prognosis (5 years survival). The patients who had no expression of collagen Ⅳ in tumor masses had a shorter survival. ConclusionThe expression of collagen Ⅳ in tumor samples are correlated with axillary node involvement and prognosis. Collagen Ⅳ would be helpful for evaluation of invasion and treatment in breast carcinoma.
Objective To investigate the expression of presenilin-2(PS2) and glutathione S transferase π(GSTπ) and their role in the prognosis and therapy of infiltrating ductal breast carcinoma. Methods The expression of PS2 and GSTπ in tumor tissues from 210 patients with infiltrating ductal breast carcinoma confirmed by pathologic examination and treated with modified radical mastectomy was examined by using LSAB immunohistochemical method. Results The expression rate of PS2 was 49.5%(104/210) and the expression rate of GSTπ was 48.1%(101/210). The grade of the postoperative 5-year survival rate and 10-year survival rate in four groups of 210 patients, from high to low, was the group 1 (PS2 positive expression/GSTπ negative expression), the group 2 (PS2 positive expression/GSTπ positive expression), the group 3 (PS2 negative expression/GSTπ negative expression) and the group 4 (PS2 negative expression/GSTπ positive expression). Conclusion The prognosis of the group 1 is the best, the group 2 better, the group 3 good and the group 4 the worst. The results suggest that reasonable use of endocrinotherapy and chemotherapy in infiltrating ductal breast carcinoma is necessary.
The overexpression of C-erb B-2 oncogene in breast cancer was examined in 245 cases with immunohistochemical techniques.The results showed that:①Significant associations of C-erb B-2 overexpression with high histological grade (P<0.05), positive axillary node status (P<0.05), advanced clinical stage (P<0.05) and the absence of hormone receptor(P<0.05) were identified in breast cancer.②Overexpression of C-erb B-2 oncogene was related with 5-year and 10-year survival rate, and considered as a prognostic factor for breast cancer independent of axillary node status. Detection of C-erb B-2 oncogene overexpression could be arranged as a regular pathological examination in breast cancer.Combined with axillary node and estrogen receptor, progestin receptor status, the results can be used in determining the prognosis and planing the treatment programme in breast cancer.
目的探讨皮瓣鱼网式打孔在乳腺癌根治术后创面覆盖中的应用。方法对80例女性乳腺癌患者行乳腺癌根治术或改良根治术,而后在皮瓣上、下缘予以鱼网式打孔,常规缝合创面。结果全部病例均未植皮,有15例在术后2~5天内有皮瓣血供不良,其余65例均无皮瓣坏死,创面愈合良好。结论皮瓣鱼网式打孔可有效地减小皮瓣缝合张力,减少皮瓣坏死的并发症,可应用于乳腺癌根治术的创面覆盖。
目的 对19例男性乳腺癌的发病情况及诊治过程和结果进行回顾性总结。方法 选择我院1973年至1997年收治的19例男性乳腺癌患者,并对其发病特点及诊治情况、预后进行分析。结果 男性乳腺癌发病率低(1.2%),发病年龄高,平均55岁,病程长,平均3.75年,病理类型均为浸润型。治疗均采用手术切除,加术后放、化疗及内分泌治疗。结论 男性乳腺癌较少见,病程长,恶性程度高,预后差。由于其在临床表现上无特异性,故极易被忽视或误诊。由于上述特点,要提高男性乳腺癌的存活率,早期诊断及治疗就显得尤为重要。
Objective To investigate the clinical significance of the amplification of CyclinD1 gene and overexpression of its protein product in breast cancer. Methods Semi-quantitative PCR and immunohistochemical techniques were used to examine the amplification of CyclinD1 gene and overexpression of its protein product in breast cancer, mammary tissues adjacent to the tumor, mammary benign disease and normal mammary tissues. Results The results showed that amplification of CyclinD1 gene was observed in 14 out of 62 (22.6%) breast cancer, the overexpression of its protein product was 48.4% (30/62). Compared with other mammary tissues, these findings were significant. Amplification of CyclinD1 gene and overexpression of its protein were positively associated with histological grade, and there was a b correlation between CyclinD1 protein overexpression and estrogen receptor (progestogen receptor). Conclusion The degree of CyclinD1 protein overexpression is not quite the same as the frequency of the amplification of CyclinD1 gene. It suggests that the overexpresstion of CyclinD1 protein is also attributed to some other mechanisms. Estrogen might stimulate the expression of CyclinD1. The detection of CyclinD1 gene and its protein in breast cancer has some clinical significances.
