According to a guideline on promoting the high-quality development of public hospitals issued by the General Office of the State Council and a guideline on accelerating the development of medical rehabilitation, a high-quality and efficient rehabilitation system should be established, and efforts should be made to promote the high-quality development of rehabilitation services in public hospitals. We propose an action guideline for promoting the high-quality development of rehabilitation services in public hospitals, which is based on a Delphi method questionnaire on the opinions of front-line clinical rehabilitation experts, and integrated with relevant literature and evidences. This guideline introduces 31 specific action plans from 7 dimensions, including standardization of basic rehabilitation settings, standardization of clinical rehabilitation techniques, improvement of the tertiary rehabilitation system, standardization of emergency rehabilitation, standardization of rehabilitation education, standardization of rehabilitation management, and promotion of scientific and technological innovation in rehabilitation medicine.
The aging of the population is grim, and the functional disability of older adults is increasing, bringing heavy burden to society. Previous studies have shown that rehabilitation is beneficial to improve the various functional disorders of the functional disability of older adults, and help them recover their activities of daily living and improve their quality of life. However, the multi-disciplinary comprehensive management model is still in its infancy in China, and there is a lack of multi-disciplinary full-period comprehensive rehabilitation management exploration for the functional disability of older adults. Therefore, based on the relevant literature, this experts consensus summarizes the rehabilitation evaluation and intervention of the functional disability of older adults from nine functional dimensions: movement, vision, hearing, cognition, swallowing, cardiopulmonary, defecation, psychology and activities of daily life, in order to provide reference for the comprehensive rehabilitation management of the functional disability of older adults.
The prevalence of developmental delay (DD) in children worldwide is still on the rise, and its causes are complex and diverse, causing varying degrees of impact on the development of the sensory nervous system in the brain of children. Sensory integration training is a treatment method that applies sensory stimulation and comprehensive activities. It is currently widely used in children with DD. This therapy can effectively improve the development and integration of the sensory system in children with DD. It also enhances the individual’s ability to adapt to external stimuli, promoting their development in language, motor, and cognitive functions. This article explores the relevant mechanisms of sensory integration training and DD, as well as the current status and effects of its application in DD children, in order to promote the development and progress of related research fields.
Surgery is an essential method of comprehensive treatment for lung cancer, but it also impairs patients’ cardiopulmonary function. A subset of patients who undergo surgery may suffer from postoperative complications, and even death. Preoperative pulmonary rehabilitation is a part of enhanced recovery after surgery, and can improve patients' cardiopulmonary function, reduce postoperative complication rate and shorten hospital stay. It has been already demonstrated a great value in lung cancer surgery. In this review, we summarized the three important components of preoperative pulmonary rehabilitation, including smoking cessation, chest physical therapy, and preoperative exercise training. Moreover, this review outlined the development of pulmonary rehabilitation for lung malignancies, aiming to promote its application and standardization.
The goal of this paper is to solve the problems of large volume, slow dynamic response and poor intelligent controllability of traditional gait rehabilitation training equipment by using the characteristic that the shear yield strength of magnetorheological fluid changes with the applied magnetic field strength. Based on the extended Bingham model, the main structural parameters of the magnetorheological fluid damper and its output force were simulated and optimized by using scientific computing software, and the three-dimensional modeling of the damper was carried out after the size was determined. On this basis and according to the design and use requirements of the damper, the finite element analysis software was used for force analysis, strength check and topology optimization of the main force components. Finally, a micro magnetorheological fluid damper suitable for wearable rehabilitation training system was designed, which has reference value for the design of lightweight, portable and intelligent rehabilitation training equipment.
Objective To explore the research trends of traditional Chinese exercise in the rehabilitation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Methods The Web of Science core collection database was searched to collect literature on traditional Chinese exercise for COPD rehabilitation published from 2004 to 2023. VOSviewer was used for bibliometric analysis of publication year, author, publication institution and country, citation and co-citation information. Results A total of 125 publications were included. No relevant publication was published from 2004 to 2008. Since 2009, the overall number of publications had shown a fluctuating upward trend, with no publications in 2012. From 2019 to 2023, the number of publications on related topics remained at a high level. Reached maximum publication volume in 2020. The annual citation frequency also showed a fluctuating increase, reaching its peak in 2022. Based on comprehensive analysis, Peter M. Wayne and Wu Weibing were the authors with high productivity, high citation, and frequent collaborations. The country with the highest number of publications was China, and the highest institution was Shanghai University of Sport. Initially, the keywords focused on rehabilitation, exercise testing, aerobic exercise, resistance exercise, and respiratory muscle strength. As the times progressed, the focus shifted to lung function, exercise tolerance, and mental health. The current trends included self-management and telemedicine. Conclusions Traditional Chinese exercises have been widely applied in the clinical practice of COPD rehabilitation, showing an upward trend. Facilitating patient self-management and establishing the role and significance of traditional Chinese exercises in remote healthcare for COPD patients may be the focus of future research.
Objective To conduct a bibliometric analysis of research hotspots and development trends in the application of peripheral magnetic stimulation (PMS), systematically review the research evolution, and provide references for future studies. Methods We retrieved PMS-related literature from the Science Citation Index Expanded database in Web of Science Core Collection (January 1, 1989 - March 5, 2025). Using VOSviewer (v1.6.20) and CiteSpace (v6.1.R6), we performed annual publication volume analysis, country/institution/author collaboration network analysis, reference co-citation analysis, and keyword co-occurrence/clustering/burst analysis, with corresponding knowledge mapping visualizations. Results A total of 124 publications were included. Both publication counts and citation frequencies remained low in early years but showed steady annual growth after 2011. The publications originated from 21 countries/regions, with Germany being the most productive nation, Technical University of Munich the leading institution, and Schneider C (from the Research Center of Neuroscience and Rehabilitation Sciences, Laval University, Canada) the most prolific author. Keyword analysis revealed three major research clusters: neuromodulation technologies, physiological mechanisms, and clinical rehabilitation applications. Future research priorities included expanded clinical applications integrating neuroelectrophysiological indicators with rehabilitation assessments, and interdisciplinary optimization of stimulation parameters through engineering approaches. Conclusions PMS has gained widespread clinical application with growing scientific interest. Future studies should focus on current hotspots to advance precision and intelligent development of this technology.
Stroke is a common and frequently-occurring disease, which seriously endangers human health. Rehabilitation treatment can effectively reduce the disability rate of stroke and improve the quality of life. The tertiary rehabilitation treatment system for stroke can effectively improve the motor function of stroke patients and improve the quality of life. This paper focuses on the choices and methods of physical therapy and occupational therapy at all levels of the hospitals and in different periods of the disease. It also aims to summarize the tertiary rehabilitation strategy for motor dysfunction in stroke patients, to provide references for all levels of hospitals and communities, achieve standardization and unification of rehabilitation treatment, as well as the rehabilitation efficacy of homogeneity.
Based on the structure and motion bionic principle of the normal adult fingers, biological characteristics of human hands were analyzed, and a wearable exoskeleton hand function training device for the rehabilitation of stroke patients or patients with hand trauma was designed. This device includes the exoskeleton mechanical structure and the electromyography (EMG) control system. With adjustable mechanism, the device was capable to fit different finger lengths, and by capturing the EMG of the users’ contralateral limb, the motion state of the exoskeleton hand was controlled. Then driven by the device, the user’s fingers conducting adduction/abduction rehabilitation training was carried out. Finally, the mechanical properties and training effect of the exoskeleton hand were verified through mechanism simulation and the experiments on the experimental prototype of the wearable exoskeleton hand function training device.
In recent years, the development of artificial shoulder arthroplasty has been rapid, but postoperative patients often have problems such as joint swelling, pain, activity limitation, muscle strength decline and various complications, which need to be accompanied by standardized and correct rehabilitation treatment. In this paper, we review the postoperative rehabilitation treatment program of artificial shoulder arthroplasty, the selection of the timing of rehabilitation treatment, the continuity treatment of rehabilitation and the rehabilitation strategies to improve the clinical efficacy in the postoperative period, with a view to providing reference and basis for the development of a reasonable rehabilitation program for postoperative patients.
